How to Whiten Your Teeth at Home the Chic Genius Way

A bright white smile. A chic look that will never go out of style!  I can't even begin to tell you how much I have spent on teeth whitening products over the years (mostly because I am too terrified to see the total). Rembrant 3-Hour whitening kit work pretty wekk but left my teeth sensitive and with sharp pains.  I've found a way cheap way to whiten teeth that work better than any product I've purchased and for approximately $2!

Here's How:

1. Buy Hydrogen Peroxide

2. Brush your teeeth really well!

3. Take a small amount of Hydrogen Peroxide (just a cap full) and swish it around in your mouth for approximately 10 minutes. Be careful not to swallow.

4. Spit it out and repeat if you need to.

*Careful Not to Get Any on Your Clothing or Carpet as it Will Bleach Anything and Everything*

Taking Advantage of Memorial Day Sales

This weekend is a great time to take advantage of all the savings that clothing companies have made available! The most important move to make in order to take full advantage is to sign up on the company's web-site e-mail list! Not only will the company alert you to new sales, you will typically receive a coupon immediately following your registration! Take your coupon with you this weekend and double up with the stores already existing memorial day sales event! :)

 I will be traveling to San Antonio this weekend and will have at least three malls to hit up on the way! How to Master the French Manicure

After spending countless dollars at the nail salon and inevitably chipping my nails by the end of the day, I deided to teach myself how to do a french manicure. It's a lot simpler than I thought it would be and I can usually go approcimately six or seven days without the dreaded chiping of the paint!

Cotton balls, Acetone, Glass cup, Nail brush, Cuticle clippers, Paper towel, Nail color, Top coat

The most important stepis to begin with clean, dry finger nails. Next, apply some cuticle cream to soften your cuticles for removal. After applying the cuticle cream and letting it set for a minute or two, use a cuticle remover to remove excess cuticle skin.

Now your'e ready for painting! Start by painting one coat of your preferred tip color on the tip of your nail. This doesn't need to be done with a clean line and as you can see mine are pretty sloppy. Next, repeat, for a second coat of polish.

The next phase is the most fun, for me anyways :)  Pour a small amount of acetone in the glass cup. Take the brush and dip it into the glass cup and wipe the brush on the paper towel. This cleans the brush as well as wets it.

Next, dip the brush into the cup again and begin at the side of your nail and paint from the underside of the tip color (My middle finger shows how I worked fromthe right side over to the left). This should be done slowly and carefully. You continue until you have the desired thickness of your tip color. After two dips wipe the acetone onto the paper towel again to keep the acetone clean. Repeat for each nail until you have succesfully completed both sets.

Cheap to Chic: Oversized Clothes

"It's not you, it's me". The words you find impossible to say to that favorite shirt. Why can't you stay together? Well, you think the shirt has too much baggage, it's getting to old, and the hemline is spontaneously falling apart! Your relationship therapist: Chic Genius.
     Approximately two years ago I began a weight loss journey. I began at a size 14, looking like a big plump grape, and two years later finally shrivelled like a raisin down to a size four. This left me with tons of oversized clothes. Many I donated. I'll admit though, I had a couple favorite pieces that I wasn't ready to 'end it' with. Sure there are many clothes in the sea of Dillards and Nordstroms but these pieces were special to me...and two were just too hilarious to get rid of (picture to follow)...I've been where you are and let me tell you: I HAVE AN IMMEDIATE RESOLUTION!
